Programs & Services
The programs and services of TW-MAE-W are geared towards the sector of children and women survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.
Drop-In Centers:
- Visitation of clients in their abode and place of work three times a week.
- Weekly bar hopping.
- Once a month encounter meals.
- Daily sessions in non-formal education and skills training in functional numeracy/literacy, personality development, value formation, basic typing, computer encoding, dressmaking, nursing aide, cosmetology
- Health seminars (quarterly): AIDS/STI education
- Alternative health care – herbal medicine, reflexology, massage
- Advocacy and campaigns: International AIDS Candlelight (every 3rd Sunday of May), World AIDS Day (every 1st day of December)
- Follow-up and home visits every Saturday.
- Weekly recreational activities: singing, sports, games.
- Medical check-up and referrals if needed.
- Economic assistance: financial assistance, job placement, capital for income-generating projects.
- Retreats and days of prayer.
Growth Homes and Transition Homes:
- Residential care or temporary shelter is extended for a minimum of 3 – 6 months and even more, if needed.
- Educational assistance: June to March enrollment in regular school, Monday to Friday – non-formal sessions, livelihood training
- Economic Assistance: job placement, transportation for family reintegration, capital for income-generating projects
- Medical Assistance: care of HIV+ residents, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, laboratory tests, confinement in hospitals, pre-natal check-up, child delivery, dental care
- Legal Assistance: conferring with lawyers, investigation process, court trial
- Psychosocial therapy
- Moral recovery activities
- Counseling
- Recreational activities
- Home visits, follow-up visits
- Referrals as needed.
